2010 LAUNCH OF ANNUAL APPEAL

It's that time of year - as we launch into our Annual Doorknock Appeal!

The Whitehorse Community Chest assists over 40 organisations each year and those same organisations assist us by providing collectors for the Doorknock.

Expect to see a Whitehorse Community Chest volunteer hitting the streets during the month of June!

What is the Whitehorse Community Chest?

Since 1962, the Whitehorse Community Chest has helped local charities and welfare agencies serving people needing assistance in our community.

By supporting the Whitehorse Community Chest, you are helping at least 40 charities and welfare agencies in the City of Whitehorse.

Each year we help a broad range of groups and services including:

Our mission is to promote local giving by raising and distributing funds to organisations that provide health, wellbeing, education, recreation and support services.

We focus on partnership development and building strategic alliances that benefit our community.

The Whitehorse Community Chest is managed by volunteers and two part-time staff to serve local residents. Each year nearly 500 volunteer collectors knock on every door in the community to raise funds that are distributed to local charities and community groups.

How are donations distributed?

We carefully research and consider submissions from registered charitable organisations. The Community Chest supports those who provide benefits, either directly or indirectly, to the Whitehorse Community. If you represent a registered charitable organisation, we welcome your application to become a beneficiary. Please complete and return this Application for Aid form for consideration.
