2009 Doorknock Appeal
A fantastic result for 2009!
The 2009 Annual Doorknock has proven to be a brilliant success, despite the odds . . .
The economic climate has had a huge effect on the fundraising dollar, with people not being as financially able to give a hand in these tough times.
February saw the devastation of the Victorian Bushfires, and an overwhelming response of generosity from all Victorians at this desperate time. The Red Cross were unable to coordinate their Red Cross Calling Appeal, as the Bushfire Appeal took all of their energy. This unfortunately meant that the Whitehorse Community Chest were not able to collect in conjunction with Red Cross Calling, and so we began 2009 behind.
We have been surprised by the outstanding result of our fundraising this year - We will be allocating $130,000 to our 41 beneficiary organisations, a brilliant result!
The Community Chest cannot operate without the co-operation and voluntary services given by so many willing people. We would like to thank everyone who has contributed their time, energy and funds to the Whitehorse Community Chest in 2009.
