Peter has been managing the Bendigo Blackburn South branch for the past eight years. Peter grew up in Vermont and currently resides in Mont Albert.

In additional to being on the board of the chest Peter is a board member of Box Hill Community Information & Support Inc and previously the chairman of the Whitehorse Business Group for five years.

Peter advises that his community commitments work in well with the expectations of being a community bank manager.

Jason Lyster - Secretary

Jason Lyster

Originally from Sydney, Jason is a Chartered Accountant specialising in auditing. While Jason has experience across many industries, he gets a lot of satisfaction working with Not-For-Profits.

Jason moved to Melbourne with his Victorian wife, Maria, their 3 children were born in Melbourne and settled in the amazing leafiness of Blackburn in 2012. Jason loves the community feel of this area, and loves giving something back by working with the community. When not working or looking after the family, Jason is passionate about riding his road or mountain bikes.

Jason joined Whitehorse Community Chest in 2013, becoming secretary later that year.

Denis Street

Denis Street


Denis has lived in Vermont South for more than 25 years and served on the Board of the Community Chest for the past 8 years in a variety of capacities. Currently Denis is Chairman of the recently formed Governance and Grant Allocations Committees. Denis has also volunteered for many years with Eastern Palliative Care.

Denis’ professional background is that he served for 38 years in the Royal Australian Air Force as an electronic engineer, and in recent years worked in ICT strategic consulting. Denis is a Fellow, Certified Professional, and Honorary Life Member of the Australian Computer Society, the professional body for ICT practitioners.

Denis and his wife, Denise have three children and five grand-children.

Jeanette Lacy

Jeanette Lacy


Jeanette has been a tireless worker for the Whitehorse Community Chest, has served on the Board for many years, and she was elected a Life Member of the Community Chest in 1991.

Jeanette served for a short time in the Royal Australian Army Signal Corps. She joined the local Ringwood Nunawading Division of St John Ambulance in 1979 and is a member of the operational arm of that Service. She has received her Long Service Medal and each five years has received a Service Bar for her services to St John Ambulance. Jeanette has been promoted to Officer of the Order of St John.

Jeanette has also had a nursing career as a State Enrolled Nurse working in aged care and wasntly working as a Medical Receptionist at a medical practice in Vermont South until retiring in 2016.
